Joke Me Not!
Jeriel would take things seriously, especially what you said to him. He would be very upset had someone made fun of him. Sometimes I did feel bad after teasing him.
If you think you wanna joke with your kids, better think again so as not to hurt them unintentionally.
The following conversation took place when Jeriel was 6 years old.

| Gently knocked on Jeriel's head and teased him. | |
| Mommy: | Let me listen, hmm...it's empty inside! |
| Jeriel: | Argh...(protest)...then you're saying I've no brain and can't think! (He's quite angry) |
| Mommy: | Let me listen again...(knocked again) Yea...I think now there's something... |
| Jeriel: | (Smiled) You mean I have brain inside now? |
| Mommy: | Let me see...so hard...maybe stone inside!! |
| Jeriel: | Argh...(protest again, really angry now) |
| Mommy: | No...it's your brain!! |
| Jeriel: | Then why first you said empty, then stone in my head? |
| Mommy: | Sorry, I'm just kidding. |
| Jeriel: | ... (still angry) |
| You really can't make fun of Jeriel's brain! | |
| Kiwi Tree | |

| Jeriel: | Mommy, I accidentally ate a kiwi fruit seed. |
| Mommy: | Really? In your stomach now? |
| Jeriel: | Mmm... |
| Mommy: | You have food and water in your stomach as well? |
| Jeriel: | Yea... |
| Mommy: | Then it makes a perfect place for the seed to grow to a kiwi tree! Very soon you can pluck kiwi fruits from your own kiwi tree right from your head! |
| Jeriel: | Argh...(angry) |
| Mommy: | It's just a joke! |
| Jeriel: | (Protest) This is what I don't like (mom teasing him)! |
| Mommy: | Sorry. I apologize, ok? Come over here...(a big hug) |
| Jeriel: | (Nod his head) Ok. But promise you don't tease me, ok? |
| Mommy: | Ok. |
Jeriel can't take jokes, just like his papa! I do hope he has a better sense of humor later on.
